Daniel is an Operating Partner at Vistria Group, a Chicago-based $10 billion private equity firm, investing in companies at the intersection of financial services, health care and technology. Previously he was the founder and CEO of Sheridan Road Financial, the #3 ranked institutional investment consulting firm in the country, according to Barron’s and The Wall Street Journal, with $20+ billion in AUM/AUA, before its sale to Hub International in 2018. Daniel is also the author of the best-selling book, The Financial Wellness Mandate, which has become a staple for companies and their leadership teams in the transformation of benefit and financial wellness programs.

Prior to founding Sheridan Road, Daniel was a senior investment banker at Robertson Stephens in San Francisco, Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette in Chicago, and in the private equity group for Sam Zell’s The Equity Group. In 2013, Daniel founded the Sheridan Road Charitable Foundation to help young people achieve positive long-term life outcomes. The Foundation was a Wealthies Finalist along with the Charles Schwab Foundation for its role in providing the most philanthropic impact within the financial services community.

Daniel received his BA from Dartmouth College and his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is a corporate board member of The Mather Group, The 4100 Group, Flores Benefits, VIST Labs, and Provenance Vineyards.
